The day after Christmas, Shanti calls and secretly tells me they'd like to come up from CA the next day for a surprise visit and I wasn't to tell anyone. We went to see Avatar earlier and all through the movie they would text me to tell me when they got to town. When we got home, we were about to go make a pizza run when Shanti calls Adrian on his cell phone and says they sent a Christmas package up to us that UPS left at the front door and to go take a look. This picture was Adrian's expression when he saw them all standing at the door!

Shanti and Chris have five children from 1yr to 7yrs old so it was a BIG surprise to have them make the long 9hr trek to see us!

I love Caleb's face as his mom and Tom hug.

Micheal, Joshy and Naomi veg out playing the Gameboys.

The next was Sunday and the kids had fun playing playdough. Naomi's tongue is an indicator that she was really getting into her creations.

Lexie changed a big box we had into the "S.S. Monkey" and pushed the kids around. Naomi peers out the window.

In order to get everyone in the kitchen for dinner, we had the boys sit at smaller table. We enjoyed a traditional Sunday meal; pot roast with veggies and homemade bread. Yum!

Gracie is getting so big! Lexie was so helpful with the kids during their stay.

We finally got the kids rounded up for movie time. They lasted as long as the popcorn did, but it gave us adults some time to enjoy playing some games...

Chris, Tom, Adrian and Shanti played Sorry and the Alvi Family Trivia game that Adrian created a few years ago that brought back memories of their crazy childhood.

On Monday morning we went for a outing to Chuck E. Cheeses. The kids had fun playing in the tunnels together.

The big boys duke it out playing air hockey.

Ethan (and in the background, Caleb) have fun pounding the daylights out of their game.

Gracie and Naomi riding going for a ride.

Austin getting his picture taken with Chuck E. Cheese himself.

Adrian puttn' the pedal to the metal.

Tom played a game that somehow kept spitting out tickets. It pretty much kept going till the machine ran out. I think it was about 500 in the end-oops! Sammy stands and collects them.

Adrian has no shame and rides the pony.

This is a roller coster ride simulator. Tom has fun checking it out. We always like to get the strawberry cheescake ice cream bars they have there.

We felt bad that the weather forcast said there was a big snow storm rolling into the Sierra mountains soon so the Landon's had to make the tough choice and turn around and head home after only visiting a day and half! My parents stopped by and said a quick "hello" before they had to travel back.

Thank you Landon's for making the long drive and short stay. It was the best Christmas present you could have given us!!
