Cabo San Lucas (Part-1)

We were blessed to accompany my sister, Wendy, and her husband, Jeff on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for 6 days! It was a time-share trial deal so the stay was pretty affordable. I got a new camera right before the trip and so you can imagine how many pictures I took! I will only post a sampling so if it seems like alot- know that I have paired it down from 1000 pictures!

There's always the exciting anticipation of waiting to board the plane. I knew my kids were in good hands with Grandma and Grandpa, but did I remember to bring everything?
Adrian had never needed a passport before and was excited to get his stamped. For some odd reason, I was the only one who got mine stamped this trip!
We were warned not to go with any of the taxi drivers inside the airport, but that our driver that we pre-paid for would be outside. We were swamped with drivers all yelling to get our business. When we told them we already have a ride etc. they would want to see our papers and pointed to drivers inside. It was very overwhelming and I was glad we were warned and didn't fall for it! On the way to the resort, we passed by these interesting street signs.
This is Woldmark's Coral Baja. It was beautiful inside and out.
All around the grounds were sculptures of animals too.
Our room was on the fourth floor so we had a fun view looking right over the beach!
Right below were one of the hot tubs. This is looking to the second building over to the right.
We loved that we had access to a full kitchen. Most of our breakfasts and lunches were made with food we got at "Mega" the local grocery store. We also had a washer/dryer so we came home with a suitcase full of clean clothes!

This was the master room the Todd's slept in.We just slept in the pull down bed in the main area. We loved that we could hear the ocean a bit from the balcony.
Once settled in, we went down to the resort's restaraunt, "Mama Mia's" and had some dinner.
We were expecting some "authentic" mexican fajitas, but I guess they were catering to the foreigners because we felt the food was bland and never ate there again.
They had a big screen to watch the Superbowl on. Later, we finished watching it in the room. Wendy I crashed though!
Adrian couldn't wait any longer and they walked just a few yards from the restaraunt to the beach to touch the ocean. (Well, actually the Sea of Cortez from where we were)
We were glad to get back home to use American dollars. We constanty had to convert the rate and it changed daily. The catus everywhere (and the lack of grass) reminded me that we were really in a desert.
Next up will be our first full day in Mexico. We knew the best weather would be the first couple of days, so those are packed full of adventure! First up: Whale watching on a sunset dinner cruise!

So I am pretty jealous now. The pics are gorgeous. That must be one heck of a camera. Of course it doesn't hurt to have a professional behind the lens. :) Glad you had a fun time.
