Austin Turns 6

Even though we had recently gone to Chuck E. Cheeses, Austin decided this is where he wanted his birthday party. I didn't mind because that meant I didn't have to come up with activities or clean up after everyone. We ordered some pizza to make it extra special. The guests included: Sammy (and Lexie shown later)
His cousin Cameron.
Ethan.
Cameron's twin, Parker.
And Austin's best friend and next door neighbor, Steven. It's a good thing he came because he was the only one out of the four kids invited that showed up! (I felt horrible because one guest tried to meet us at the party instead of our house and we missed them) But we rounded up a couple cousins and everything was alright!
Austin said he wanted a Batman cake. I thought we could get away with just the symbol, but he was clear he wanted the Batman guy on it! Adrian always does a great job with the cakes!
I think he feels loved...

A big hit with the kids is this "Extreme Cards" where they take your picture and your face goes on an ID card of sorts.Austin tries to figure the perfect pose...
He ends up with the classic tongue poking out!
Ethan couldn't resist the "tipped hat" like Indiana Jones would do.
So cute.
Easy to take candids when their glued to their games.
Austin got popsicle treat.
Didn't stop him from playing his favorite game!
Air hockey is fun because you can play it with a friend.
Cameron's determined to win the SpongeBob came.

Steven proudly held up his tickets he won.Lexie got way too many ID cards!
Austin makes a wish and blows out the candle.
Time for gifts! Steven was so excited to give Austin this rocket. Since they play together before school most days, this will get some good use. (It helps there are two rockets)!
Austin also got a gumball machine, mini frizbees, a cap gun with hand cuffs, army guys and some candy.
Last but not least the main gift from Mom and Dad...

By the end, Austin thought he owned the place and was having a little too much fun.
On Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa helped to celebrate too. Grandpa always measures the kids and marks their "grow stick". It looked like he grew about 2 1/2" from last year!
Their tradition is to give the grandkids a gold dollar for every year since they've been born.
Alway followed by the best hug ever!
We love you Austin and are loving to watch you grow up! Now I am actually CAUGHT UP with my blogging! Just in time for my trip to Mexico with my new camera (Pentax K-7). So you can be sure there will be many more pictures coming soon. :)
