Lexie's 11th Birthday

Lexie turned 11 on November 13th. It happend to fall on a Friday so her party was on her birthday and was (you guessed it) Friday the 13th! We started the day off right with a special breakfast of her choosing. I don't always take the time on a school morning to cook much so it was extra special!At lunch I surprised her and picked her up from school for a lunch date at a resteraunt of her choice: McDonalds. I tried to get her to aim higher, but alas, she is still a kid so McDonald's it was!
Her birthday party was sort of a "Theatre" theme. we started out playing a silly game of Lexie's creation. She has quite the imagination so you can bet it was goofy and fun!
The friends that came were: Janee, Presley, Mason, Blake and Madeline from school.
For some reason, Lexie really wanted to watch a bit of Elmo~ some kind of inside joke with her friends.

With the "Theatre" theme, we did a bit if dress up. Why am I not surprised at the gender reversal?

What would be more perfect than to watch the movie "Freaky Friday" on Friday the 13th?
Of course there was pizza.

Make a wish!

She did a good job of telling all her friends what she wanted for her Birthday...gift cards to Claires. Everyone have her one, she had quite the shopping spree!
Sami brings Lexie into the office to see the gift from Mom and Dad.

One last game: The Dice Game where when you roll doubles you take candy from the middle. Eventually you take candy from each other till the timer goes off and you get whatevers in front of you. We had plenty of candy from Halloween still so they played a few rounds.
Even Sami got in the spirit of the theatre and dressed up...Go Batgirl!
I was glad it was a pretty low key party. Much easier then some I've done in years past...like taking a ton of girls to the mall or doing major crafts. Happy Birthday Lexie~ one more year till Young Womens!
