So we went boating...well, not in the traditional sense. My Dad has a scaled down motorized boat that we took out on the little pond at Settler's Park.

He let all the grandkids take a turn with the controls!

We had to be careful not to run it into the algea because it would stop the motor and it would be bad if it stopped in the middle of the pond!

Austin cracked me up because I caught him telling some kids we didn't know that the boat was his Grandpas and it cost $100! (He didn't know that it was actually given to him by a friend)

Even Grandma Rich takes a turn.

Their older cousin, Coulson, was visiting from Alaska and the younger boys just followed him around like he was a rock star. Who know what mysteries he was teaching them...

Here Coulson was showing them how to do a stunt that made it look like you were walking up a tree. Cool.

So I guess you could say motor boats doesn't have quite the same appeal for a 12yr. old girl. After Sami's short turn with the controls, she was pretty much glued to her cell phone. No surprise!

Once the fishermen cleared, Dad got out his super fast gas-powered boat. This one is noisy but can really cruise!

To start it, you have to push the propeller by hand then it will start up like a lawn mower. It's touchy because you don't want to cut your fingers on the blades!

I think Austin could have watched the boats all day! He loves anything motorized and moves. Thanks Grandpa for such a fun outing!
