BYU Women's Conf.

Another fabulous time at Women's Conference! This year the theme was "In the Strength of the Lord." I went up with my volleyball friends and stayed in the dorms. Here Kysa and Robin and I look forward to the opening session. Some of the speakers I enjoyed were: Sandra Rogers, Julie B. Beck, John Bytheway and Mary Ellen Edmond (although we were surprised that her talk didn't have it's normal humor) and L. Tom Perry.Robin and Kysa look totally enthralled already!

There were many service opportunities. We helped tie a quilt! It's amazing the amount if products they get done in one day!We loved hearing Freddie Ashby perform the music for the "Refections of Christ" presentation.
Alex Boyle is always fun to watch- so soulful!
I forget this guys name but he sang a song from Les Miserables.
We felt like it was a "bait and switch" when they promoted the movie "Forever Strong" in the middle of the concert. It didn't have anything to do with music.

Eclipse is always a fun group to watch. They said we were like bunch of Mia Maids by the way we were screeming!
This is Jenny Oaks Barker. She played the violin like nobody else- it was heavenly.
And it wouldn't be WC without the funny and heart-warming Hilary Weeks.
Everyone buys these mint brownies. I was a bit disappointed that mine were already dry and I had to throw the rest away before I got home.

Just chill'n in the dorms after the concert. Kysa, Robin and I make the shuttle to go accross campus to listen to John Bytheway.
We made it in time for great seats- he was awesome as usual!
The view from our dorm window. I love the snow-capped mountains!
A quick group shot under the beautiful trees: Riki, me, Robin, Diane, Kris, Kysa, Kara, Jennifer.

The concluding speaker was L. Tom Perry and he encouraged us to close the gap on the misperceptions the world has about the church. We had dinner at Los Hermanos in Provo. Good stuff!
My friends: Diane and Kysa.
This is the view from the cabin the night we arrived. It was more beautiful in person.
Sarah deomonstrates and easy way to do the "messy bun" to us moms.

Now if our hair could just look like that when we do it!Right by the cabin is a crater that is filled with geothermally heated water where you can swim and scuba dive.
The top is protected so you don't (or other things) fall in!

You can kinda of see some of the swimmers below.

This is the entrance to where you can go swim.

It was all hot and steamy in there. I guess it's supposed to be 65 ft. deep.

This was a funny joke that Diane thought up- Here Heather's face show's how we were all dieing inside as we pulled up to a junky trailer and pretended to AJ that this was the cabin!Kara and Kris enjoy the joke from inside the car.
AJ is not too sure what to think...we told her there wasn't room so she'd have to sleep on the old couch that was outside on the lawn.

We all laugh and AJ said she was wondering what our definition of "cabin" was! What a good sport.

This cabin had 3 floors and a loft. We had no touble accomdating the 12 of us!

We enjoyed having the down time to share notes from the fabulous talks we heard!Diane teaches us how to play "31".
Dinner was Haystacks. It was nice to eat real food after eating so much out.
Downstairs had table tennis, foosball and a pool table. We played "Around the World" where we all share a paddle and round around and take turns to keep the ball moving. It was a blast!

Here we play the game where you hit the ball and keep it moving while rotating players. The cabin from the outside.

The whole gang: Kysa, Diane, Heather, Riki, Kara, Kris, Sarah, Jennifer, AJ, Erin, Jen (me), Robin.
Our sexy "Charlie Angels" pose...

There was a big storm we had to drive though on the way home. At one point it hailed so hard we had to pull over because there was no visibility! I indulged in a few more shots- the clouds were very ominous!

Now I just need to sift through all my notes and post my favorite quotes so I can implement all that I have learned. It's wonderful to get away and have your bucket filled and return home and actually be missed! I wish every woman could attend these!

I love Women's Conference! The first time I went, I was 17 years old and I feel instantly in love. Attending that conference really helped ease my fear of Relief Society. I am glad you could go and could be spiritually energized.
