4-day Weekend

So- a four day weekend and no big plans. Could be boring...but we tried to make the most of it. I find the kids get much more creative when exciting things aren't just handed to them. One thing we did was have a BINGO party! Adrian's grandparents had this 1957 set that was loads of fun!
Some of Sami's friends came for some old fashioned fun!

Gotta sweeten the deal with a few token prizes and some popcorn!

Ethan is a very sweet boy! Austin's birthday is coming up and today we celebrated Grandpa's. In the spirit of giving, Ethan created his own Lego set by drawing an instruction booklet to create a Lego Indiana Jones set of his own creation! He packaged it up and everything. It was kinda funny because as soon as Austin opened it, Ethan kept asking him if he wanted to "make" it now. Austin doesn't really play much with Legos and certainly can't follow an instruction booklet- but Ethan wasn't phased by it, he just went ahead and made it up for him!

We took the girls (boys don't appreciate Chinese food) to Chinese Grand Buffet. It's always an adventure to try out strange new foods like crawfish, chicken feet and sushi!

We couldn't pass up our try at luck with the wishing bowl and rubbing the Buhda belly!

When there is time to kill, the kids like to get real creative! Here Ethan is pretending to be all the sea creatures- a whale or fish of some kind.

I think the kids got every pillow in the house to create "P & B Island" (Pillow & Blanket). They did in fact put everything away!
This was their imaginary fire. (Flashlight under a hat) Needless to say they had a ball!

Just goes to show that we all could try to be more like kids - they never seem to get bored:}

Love seeing your kids creativity!
