Boy Scouts

Now that Ethan is 8, he is a Cub Scout! He is very excited to join the pack of "Wolves" with his scouting friends. Our first meeting was the end of summer Pack Meeting where we had a great BBQ at the Limb's backyard. Here Ethan gets his first badge- the "Bobcat" (which happens to be the name of the street we live on)
Then he gets to pin an award on me too!I had to laugh at his rolled up jeans- I told him he couldn't wear shorts (because I just didn't know what the dress code was yet) and he found he was the only one on a hot August day with long jeans...so we improvised!

I am finding what it means to be a scouting mom- SEWING ON PATCHES!! Not a fun task. I am glad to hear from Cherie that they now have this material you can buy that fuse the patch and the shirt together when you put it in the dryer! I'll be checking that out very soon.

I believe that some of the patches now come with an iron-on backing. Soooo much easier. How exciting for him to join the scouting program. Just wait, patches are nothing to what's coming. Mom's earn those mother's pins, just as much as the boy earns the badge.

I hope Ethan has had fun at the activities. It is fun to watch how much energy those boys have. I love the "first pin" picture.
