Fun at the Fair!

Another year at the fair! The year was the first year I could enter in the "professional" photography section. There are less enteries but stiffer competition. The three entries were under "portrait" (Lexi's face closeup), "family" (the Crockets) and the fair theme, "poultry in motion" in which I placed third!

The petting zoo is always fun I got a kick watching the goats scramble to get a bite
As I was standing there taking pictures, I felt a tug at my shorts and a goat was trying to eat them!
First activity was doing the kids tractor pull!

Ethan had to pedal the tractor and as you pedal, the weight on the back slides up and makes it harder and harder to go.Austin gave it a whirl too. Once he saw these little tractors in the program- this was the first thing he wanted to do!
And everyone gets a ribbon!
As we went down the rows of games, Adrian and I thought that it could be compared to how the Adivsary will try to tempt us...people calling for you on both sides, saying how fun it is and how you will win etc. I find it best not to even make eye contact or say anything. I guess I never play the games- I always feel like it was a waste of my money. (probably because I'm never good enough to win :)
And don't these look like some good temptation?

The photographer in me couldn't pass up the interesting colors the shade umbrella made on Ad's sunglasses. The boys felt so big going on the roller coster. They ended up going twice.
And the classic Merry-Go-Round.
The moment Austin saw this, he kept asking to go on it!
The swings are Lexi's favorite ride of all time!

It was hard to catch her while she was spinning because it went pretty fast. I couldn't even see what she was doing till I checked my camera later...I cracked up!I just love having my girls older than my boys. Sami took Austin on the Haunted House ride.
Lexi took Ethan on "Flying Bobs" ride. I just don't think if the boys were older, they would be so willing to hold hands and do that!
Lexi holding on tight.
Looks like we didn't need the flash on that one. We had to sit down in the shade, it was a very hot day!
We couldn't pass up this little magic trick.
The snake/worm appeared to move on it's own!
The clowns made some swords out of balloons!

As you can imagine, it didn't take long for them to pop!
Adrian was volunteering at the corn booth so we got to visit him and enjoy free corn!

Doesn't that make you want to eat some right now?
One of Adrian's bosses and his wife are getting corn at the far left.
The kids were facinated with the huge tub of corn. Too many to count.
Taking a "corn" break!
The kids were so ready to get home and relax after all the fair fun!!

Your pictures were/are great! Congrats on placing. I agree with Cherie, I loved the picture of Lexi and think it should have taken 1st.
