Misc. May

So I'm playing catch up and finally getting to my pictures from May! Our spring was so rainy and cold I took a few shots of a surprise snow shower. The clouds looked so dark!

So with spring and change came a new hair color for me. I've never gone darker because I've been naturally blonde most my life (until I started having kids and it started to turn) So-I no longer am maintaining the blonde! It's been a fun change.

I know this was a while ago, but the kids had fun using the cool beaker thing from Ethan attending Trent Bakow's "Mad Science" themed birthday party!

This also inspired the fun but messy experiment of cornstarch and a bit of water.

We had a nice unexpected visit from Adrian's first employer back when he lived in Jackson, CA and worked and Marlene and Glen's Diner. He started with doing dishes but they couldn't keep him out of the kitchen and Glen realized his potential and very shortly let him start cooking. I am grateful as we benefit from his mad cooking skills!Glen Fore and Adrian- it was fun talking about the "good ol' days"!
I got to spend the day with Lexi and a few of her classmates for the big Rendezvous at Meridian Middle. All day we got to check out cool stuff related to Idaho history.
Every 1/2hr. the cannon would fire to tell us to rotate. It was loud but fun to watch!

Lexi got to pan for gold and came home with a little fleck.
It was fun to see Sister Knapp's husband there as he really does have a claim and searches for gold for a living. (If I understand it right)

I was so proud of Sami for being brave enough to play in front of her 6th grade class for their talent show! There were over 600 people and she played, "River Flows in You" and did a great job!Lexi and Ethan got the Academic Achievement Award in the same month. (I missed Ethan's as it was at the same time as Austin's Preschool Graduation.) Way to go kids!
Here's Ethan at his baseball party. His coach was SO nice to the kids and Ethan had a great season. He was always so cheerful and easy going. He may not have hit the ball very often but he was a good team player!
Instead of trophies the moms had a great idea to just have a poster of the kids playing ball. I offered to take the pictures and design the poster and the Bakows blessed us all with free poster-size prints! They seemed to really love them.
Austin's Preschool graduation was so cute! They had the kids walk in holding hands. Austin is such a "boy" I was really fun to see him be a bit uncomfortable with a girl!

We loved Miss Brooke and Austin really missed her once school was over. She awared him with, "Most Likely To Be A Superhero" because when she asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and he said, "Anything Guy". Ethan made up the "Anything Guy" as a superhero that can do ANYTHING.

So you can see our "end of school" was plenty busy and full of great things!

I love the storm pictures at the beginning. Having four involved kids sure does keep you busy (I can only imagine). That is great that Sami was brave enough to play in front of her peers (now we just need her to gather up the courage/desire to play in YW!).
